Sherman Robert Klass

Sherman R. “Sherm” Klass, age 86, of Perry Township, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021.

He was born April 8, 1934 in Canton, Ohio to the late William and Margaret (Howenstine) Klass. Sherman was a graduate of Timken High School, Class of 1952. Following graduation he went right to work for Danner Press for 44 years until retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany from 1955-1957, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Canton. Sherm was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Berkley Fishing Team, Lake Cable Fishing Club, Meyers Lake Sportsman’s Club. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bradley Klass; and sister, Marilyn Bolitho. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sally Klass; children, Bradley (Jennifer) Klass, Jennifer (John) McLaughlin, and Mindy Zentkovich; grandchildren, Brady and Erin McBride, Jillian and Abby McLaughlin, Macy Krichbaum; sister-in-law, Joyce Klass; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00am in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. Friends may call from 10-11am Thursday, one hour before services at the funeral home. Masks are required; social distancing will be practiced; and gathering limits will be enforced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the First Baptist Church of Canton, 4110 38th Street NW, Canton, OH 44718.
