Steven Scott Quinn was born in Canton, Ohio on April 13, 1965. His father, Scott, and his mother, Marlene, moved to North Canton where the family lived for many years. He graduated from Hoover High School and set off to work in Florida. Endowed with the instincts and skills of an entrepreneur, he settled in the field of culinary arts. He found his calling as a chef and was at his best between the ovens and the spice rack. He and his wife, Ellen, owned and operated the Parkway Deli, a restaurant and catering establishment located in the Embassy Parkway in Akron.
Steve’s enduring interest and love was for his family. His friendships were numerous if not boundless. He enjoyed hunting and clay target shooting with family and friends.
He is survived by Ellen, his wife; his son, Dominick; his mother, Marlene and her husband Joe Toot; and his father, Scott and his wife Debbi Markl. He was forty-eight years old. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. There will be a private family memorial service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Steve’s memory to the Stark Community Foundation: 400 Market Ave. North, Suite 200, Canton, OH 44702.
