Thomas was born on June 14, 1947 in Troy, Ohio to the late Jessie and Jeanne (Mason) Jay. He was a graduate of the 1965 class from Mentor High School and then attended Ohio University. In the 70’s, Thomas started working as a chimney sweep and then started his business Jay’s Chimney Sweeping in the mid 80’s, running that until he retired in 2007. Thomas enjoyed gardening and visiting with people.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Susan (Hucovsky) Jay, who he married on July 14, 1990, his two brothers, Jim (Cynthia) Jay and Bill (Margie) Jay, one nephew, James and three nieces, Sarah, Rebekah, and Carrie Ann.
Per his wishes, a cremation will take place and a memorial service will take place on November 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Brook Park Community Church of the Brethren.
