

Thomas Leo Sigler went home to be with the Lord on May 22, 2012. Thom was born in Canton, Ohio on December 1, 1925 to the late Leo and Genevieve (Rohr) Sigler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet (Gollop) Sigler; son, Phillip J. Sigler, Sr.; brothers, Robert, Edward, Harold and Leo Sigler; sisters, Angie (Diehl), Ruth (Burdette), and MaryJane (Wackerly); and great-granddaughter, Angelina Salamon. Thomas is survived by his sister, Evelyn Rupple; sons, Dan, Rev. Gary, Allan (Robin), Bruce (Rita), Tommy, Jack (Chris) Sigler and daughters, Jennifer Sigler-Enochs and Victoria (Frank) Dente as well as 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Tom served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946 spending time in the South Pacific and China. He worked as a builder with his brother, Harold for 30 years and did sub-contract work until 1977 when he went to work in Columbus, OH at the Defense Construction Supply Center until his retirement in 1991. Tom was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Canton for many years, involved with K of C and was an avid golfer. He helped with Meals on Wheels and worked on a Habitat for Humanity house. Tom and his wife, Vi spent 8 years of their retirement in Florida and Virginia before moving back to Massillon. Most recently, he was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Massillon, OH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30am in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 206 Cherry Road NE, Massillon with Rev. Fr. Ed Gretchco officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call 6-8pm Thursday (TONIGHT) in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home and Friday, one hour before services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 2800 Leemont Ave NW, Canton, OH 44709.
