Timothy Scott Roshong

Timothy “Tim” Scott Roshong, 70, of North Canton, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026, and is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

Tim was born in Canton on May 29, 1956, to the late Gene Roshong and JoAnn (Church) Franz. He was largely raised in Canton by his mother and stepfather, JoAnn and Earl Franz. He graduated from Oakwood High School before he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sales & Marketing from Kent State University. Following this, he then moved to Texas in 1979 looking for better opportunities. This is where he met Kathy Tracy, who he married June 29, 1995, and they have celebrated 31 years of marriage. Tim and Kathy moved to Ohio in 1998, where they then raised their family. Tim was a very strong believer in Christ. He was a long-time member of First Christian Church, where he served as an elder for years, helped them build their Edgewood Community Center, and helped with the church’s program for the developmentally disabled. He loved to speak about Jesus and try to save souls. Tim also volunteered his time to help with the local chapter of the Special Olympics. Tim was instrumental in helping his brother, Joe, launch BrewPastors, a non-traditional ministry meant to meet people where they’re at and to have compassionate conversations over a beer or coffee. Tim wanted folks to know that Jesus will meet you right where you are. Imperfection and all. Tim was very active in sports, used to ride bikes when he was younger and would race in the MS150. He also enjoyed playing basketball, but his favorite sport was golf. Tim was a very genuine man who dearly loved his family and friends and made a serious effort to make the world a better place.

Tim is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, two children: Wes Buchanan and his wife, Aubrey, and Lisa Lanier and her husband, Kevin; five grandchildren: Ashley Buchanan, Jenna Raderchak, Austin Buchanan, Landen Boyer, and Delaney Boyer; two brothers: Brad Roshong, and his wife, Eva, and Joe Franz and his wife, Megan; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members, all whom he loved very much.

Along with his father, Gene, and mother, JoAnn, Tim is preceded in death by his stepfather, Earl, his uncle, Paul Church, and his grandparents: Bernice and Foster Church.

Per his wishes, Tim will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at First Christian Church in North Canton at 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026. He will be privately laid to rest at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery.
