

Bud was born in Canton on February 3, 1936, to the late Walter and Helen (Nelius) Zimmer. He was a 1954 graduate of North Canton High School. He worked as a mechanical engineer at Republic Steel for many years before he moved to Siefert Technologies, where he worked until he retired. Bud was a charter member of the Hall of Fame Luncheon Club. He was a longtime member of Little Flower Catholic Parish where he was a member of the Men’s Club and served as an usher. He celebrated 66 years of marriage with Shirley Ann (Zwallen) Zimmer, before she passed in August of 2022. Bud and Shirley loved to dance at Myers Lake to the big bands. After Shirley's passing, Bud loved to be surrounded by friends including his daily coffee group.
Bud is survived by his children, Debbie and Randy Hendershot, Diane and Doug Matako, Denise Zimmer and Denny Baker, Jeff and Lori Zimmer; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Kathy Boyce.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bud is preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Rudd.
Calling hours for Bud will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 5-7pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Little Flower Catholic Parish on Wednesday, June 24th at 10:00am with burial to follow at Liberty Cemetery, Paris, Township, Ohio.
