Wandene was born in Canton on November 1, 1937 to the late Ernest and Lula (Johannesen) Norris. She was a graduate of the 1957 class of Jackson High School.
Wandene is survived by five children children: Reta (Gregory) Clapper, Paul (Chris) Ashley II, Larry Ashley, Nancy (Donald) Prete, and Karen Stump; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Martha Hurst.
Along with her parents, Wandene is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 64 years, Paul Ashley, I., three sisters, Nancy Norris, Carol Norris, and Norma Starkey, brother-in-law, Roosevelt Ashley, Jr., sister-in-law, Olive Ashley, and son-in-law, Gregory Stump.
Calling hours for Wandene will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 10 am to 12 pm. Funeral services will begin at 12 pm on Monday with Reverend Gary Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
