Bill was born on October 30, 1950, in Cleveland to the late William and Grace (Blaschke) Elmy, Sr. Bill graduated from Northwestern Military Academy in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Bill served in the United States Army for two years before he joined the United States Navy, where he served for six years before his honorable discharge in 1981. In 1983, he married Ann (Iglar) Elmy and they enjoyed almost 43 years of marriage together before his passing. He worked for Philips Medical System as a Field Service Engineer for medical imaging for over 30 years until he retired in 2016. In his free time, Bill loved to go golfing. As an avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching the Guardians Baseball team and the Cleveland Browns. He was also a lover of cars and when he was younger, he built his own Cobra.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Ann, two daughters, Katie Church and Lauren Elmy, one granddaughter, Charlie Church.
Per his wishes, Bill will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 12:00 pm with Pastor Gary Smith officiating.
