He was born November 13, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late William and Dorothy (Graf) Gruber. Bill was raised in Hartville, and lived in Canton most of his life. He was a graduate of Marlington High School, and worked for Schumacher Lumber and the Hoover Company. Bill was a history and movie buff who enjoyed fishing and arrowhead hunting with his brother.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Eron in 1991. He is survived by his siblings, Gary (Karen) Gruber of Canton, Ohio, Virginia “Ginny” (Steve) Gehret of Alliance, Ohio, and Ron (Lynette aka “Sam”) Gruber of Columbus, Ohio; nephews, Eric (Brenda) Gruber, Michael, and Matthew Gehret; nieces, Laura (Phil) Stearns, and Jamee (Sterling) Moss; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Per Bill’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Bill was an avid coffee drinker, so your next cup of coffee give a toast to Bill.
Bill was a longtime supporter of Paralyzed Veterans of America.
