

Bill was born in Canton on July 15, 1930, to the late Ivor and Violet (Briscoe) Peters, Sr. He was a graduate of McKinley High School. He served in United States Navy during the Korean War. Bill worked for Timken Co. for 46 years as a millwright before he retired in January of 1993. He married Janice (Faubel) Peters on July 19, 1953, and they have enjoyed 72 years of marriage together. For many years, Bill was a Scout Master of Lake Cable Troop 927, and he held positions as Assistant Commissioner and Commissioner. He is a 60-year member of Canton First Baptist and a Past Worshipful Master of William McKinley Lodge 431 of the Masons. Bill was a sports enthusiast and was a member of the Canton Amateur Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame.
Along with his wife, Janice, Bill is survived by his children: Sherry (Lee) Spuhler, Bonnie (Ed) Aliviado, Julie (Walt) Soduk, and Bob (Maria) Peters; seven grandchildren: Jamie, Jodie (Stephen), Greig (Leah), Kristie (Cody), Kirk (Denise), Sarah (Joey), and Matthew (Megan); six great-grandchildren: Violet, Landon, Bowen, Lucas, Ellie, and Euan; three step-grandchildren: Alex (Meredith), Marianne, and Stephanie (Jeff); and two step-great-grandchildren: Claire and Charlie; one sister, Doris Anne Daughenbaugh, many nieces and nephews, and many other extended family members.
Along with his parents, Ivor Sr. and Violet, Bill is preceded in death by his two brothers, Ivor C. Peters, Jr. and David Glyn Peters, Sr.
Calling hours for Bill will take place at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 pm and on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 12:00 pm with Reverend Kevin Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Bill’s name to the donor’s charity of choice.
