William C. Regula, age 83, of the Chapel Hill Retirement Community passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014. He was born in Canton, Ohio on September 21, 1930 to William and Clara (Thomas) Regula. Bill was a 1948 graduate of Jackson High School and served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. He was a Conrail Railroad retiree, a member of the Canton Baptist Temple, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, and the Antique Car Club of America. Bill had a passion for working on cars, watching Barrett-Jackson car auctions, and auto racing. He will be remembered for his beautiful smile, jubilant laugh and handy-man qualities. His favorite phrase, “I’ll be here” when informed of a visit will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Julia M. Regula; his parents; brother, Francis Regula; and sister, Pauline Smith. Surviving Bill is his son, Dr. Stan (Dr. Margaret) Regula of Cameron Park, California; step-son, Jeffrey Caygill; step-daughter, Janine (John) Santora; grandchildren, Clara and Helen Regula of Cameron Park, California, Jennifer (John) Walton and John (Cara) Santora; great-grandchildren, Emma Santora, Madeline and Jacob Walton; three nephews and one niece.
Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Sunday following calling at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Delaney Young and Rev. Sandra Hutchinson conducting the service. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the Canton Baptist Temple in Bill’s memory.
