

Bill was born at Massillon City Hospital, on August 15, 1945, to the late Paul and Betty (McNickle) Snyder. Bill served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1966, during which he served in Korea. On June 11, 1967, Bill married Marcia Malone, and they have celebrated 58 years of marriage together. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he earned his GED from Garaway High School in Sugarcreek, Ohio. He then went on to earn his Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stark State College. Bill took a machinist course with Republic Steel and worked for them until 1990. In 1991, he started working for J&L Steel in Louisville. He worked for them as a Journeyman Machinist until he retired in 2013. Bill was a long-time member of Grace Brethren Church. He was very involved with the church, assisting where he could, and serving as a deacon for many years. Bill really loved history and theology. Bill was very family-oriented and enjoyed playing cards, hunting, and spending time with his loved ones.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Marcia, his sons: Dru (Michele) Snyder and Paul (Jill) Snyder; three grandchildren: Audra, Ashton, and Hannah Snyder; his brother: Paul “Danny” Snyder; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Snyder.
Calling hours for Bill will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 2:00 – 5:00 pm and on Monday, May 18th from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Monday, May 18th at 11:00 am with Pastor Chad Durfee officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
