William Drake Van Nostran

He was born August 7, 1935 in Canton, Ohio to the late Paul and Mildred (Patton) Van Nostran. Bill was a graduate of McKinley High School, Class of 1953, and of Ohio University where he held membership in Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was a veteran of the US Army who served on the island of Okinawa. He retired as a senior vice president of Cincinnati Insurance Company following a 31 year career. Bill was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, North Canton, and the North Canton Elks BPOE 2029. Bill loved the outdoors and took great pride in landscaping the office buildings of his brother and son. He enjoyed playing gin and golfing (especially hunting golf balls) and spending time with his dogs. Bill was very involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, William C. Snyder. He is survived by his wife of nearly 32 years, Diane “D” Van Nostran; children, Kim (Ambrose) Perduk, Kathy “Ree” Bush, and Will (Sue) Van Nostran; grandchildren, Kyle, Noah, and Gabe Perduk, Drake and Lily Van Nostran; stepdaughters, René and Jennifer; sister, Judy Snyder; and brothers, Paul and Doug Van Nostran.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday in the Faith United Methodist Church, 300 Ninth Street NW, North Canton with Rev. Bruce Mont officiating. Friends may call from 9-11am Tuesday, two hours before services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church Endowment Fund.
