

Zachary Keith Smith, a compassionate and kind-hearted individual, passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 28. Born on August 19, 1997, Zach was a resident of Ravenna, Ohio, and was beloved by all who knew him.
Zach was born and raised in Jackson Township, Ohio. He attended Jackson High School and Mentor High School and graduated from Rootstown High School in 2015. He was attending Kent State University with the goal of working in the field of oncology.
A devoted and resilient individual, Zach was an avid music lover and an exceptional musician who played several instruments. He adored his cat, Marley, and was very family-oriented, valuing both his biological and found family. He enjoyed playing video games and fitness was important to him. Zach enjoyed going on vacations and adventures with his family and was never one to dwell on the bad things in life, always positive and looking to the future.
Zach was the embodiment of empathy and love, known for extending kindness to everyone he met. He was a huge inspiration to his family and friends, always thinking of others before himself. His generous, gentle, and humorous nature made him cherished by all.
Zach is survived by his parents, Steven K. and Katherine (Chambers) Smith, his brother, Steven L. (Nikki Chicko) Smith, beloved cat, Marley, his grandfather, Burl "Papaw" Smith, his uncles: Brian, Mark, Tommy, and Ritchie Smith; great-uncle, Jimmy Smith, great-aunt, Shirley Smith, his closest cousins: Michael Whitlatch, Brandon Smith, Manuel Smith, and Matt Gibson; his cousins, Gina Rossi, Amber Zornes, and Brian and Kaleb Smith; and countless other cherished family and friends.
Zach is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Marlene "Mamaw" Smith, cherished grandparents, Terry and Frances Chambers; his aunts and uncles: Deb Gibson, Bob Chambers, Billy Smith, and Thelma "Sissy" Smith, and many other great-aunts and great-uncles.
Calling hours for Zach will be held at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
Zach will be remembered for his kindness, inspirational spirit, bravery, and selflessness. His thoughtful and wise nature left a lasting legacy of family and community, and he will forever be imprinted in the hearts of those who knew him.
