I can still smell the necklaces Aprille and I were wearing in this picture. They were charm necklaces, and we could change out which Strawberry Shortcake character hung from the flowers. Of course, we chose for ours to match. Our hair and dresses were as close as we could get them, too.  Life was never better than when my cousins came to visit Conroe, and Aprille was one of my favorite playmates.

I loved it when Aprille would visit Conroe. It was extra special when she'd come over to my house. But most of our of memories together were on Dallas Street. I can still hear her 10-year old voice singing "Somewhere Out There." In fact, I remember us recording it on an old cassette deck. I'll always think of it as "our" song. The older we got, the less we saw one other. Years went by, kids came, and that American sky stretched out ever wider between us. In short, life happened to both of us. I always expected that we'd eventually reconnect. I imagine we would have reprised our shared smiles over talk of our kids, worship music, and Jesus. That's still going to happen, but now it's going to happen in a much more beautiful Place.

This is one of my all-time favorite pictures.  On this particular evening, Aprille and I were playing in the bathtub when my mom came in and told us that "Snoopy" (Peanuts) was on the television. We didn't have a VCR, and Peanuts specials only aired a few times a year. My family also didn't have a tv schedule, so this airing was a special surprise. As you can see, we didn't waste any time in getting out of the bathtub and getting in front of the tv.

I worked with Aprille for 10 years at Cozby Germany Hospital.  Aprille was such a sweet person with a gentle and caring soul.  Nursing was definitely her calling.  
Her children and family were her everything.  
She will be sorely missed.

You know when you have one of those people that come into your life and you think - this is going to be special? Well, that was Aprille. We were barely old enough to know what the word "friendship" meant, but she was one of the best I ever had. From riding our bikes around town, going to youth group together, getting sick because we thought it was a good idea to ride the Texas Giant 5 times in a row, writing crazy songs, twirling on the flag team together, to countless others - she is someone I will never forget. I am the luckiest to have so many amazing childhood memories with her and I will cherish them forever. We used to always end our notes to each other with TTYL (talk to you later) - So, Aprille - I will TTYL.

So very lucky to have spent all my school years with Aprille. She was one of the kindest and nicest girls I remember going to school with. She was a very dear friend. Prayers for her family at this time.  GSHS Class of 1996

I was blessed with many interactions with Aprille throughout the years from coaching her daughter Kloee in softball. Aprille was one of the most supportive, kind, understanding, and sincere parents that I have ever met. She never missed a game, a scheduled practice, a spurt of the moment unscheduled practice, or any opportunity to support her children. She never once complained about Kloee’s role, her playing time, her position in the lineup; or anything. I remember her saying this is your team and we support your judgment. She had the type of mature, caring, and patient personality that would make you want to be better by her influence. She was a rare, precious soul that had a positive impact on anything and anyone she was involved in. She will be missed greatly.
