Archie Finley Gandy

Archie, 88, of Seagoville, TX went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2017 in Canton, TX.

Mr. Gandy was born at home on September 4, 1928 in Payne Springs, TX. to the late Felton and Ruby Gandy of Eustace, TX. He married Alice Charlton in Brenham, TX. on September 19, 1981.

He was a Baptist by faith and was ordained as an evangelist on May 17, 1998 at Bethel Baptist Church in Seagoville, TX. He was very active in church up until the time his health took a big strain on his life. Archie was a truck driver by trade and drove trucks for 54 years, and covered all 48 states and out of these years he had his own business for several years, Archie’s Sand & Gravel in Seagoville, TX. until March 2002, when he had his first stroke.

Archie is preceded in death by his Parents, Felton & Ruby Gandy; Wife, Alice Gandy; and Sister, Charlene Gandy.

He is survived by his Sons: Archie Wayne and Cecelia Gandy of Canton, TX, Jimmie Dale and Helen Gandy of Kileen, TX, Charles Edward & Dillie Gandy of Forney, TX: Daughters: Brenda Jo Franklin, Reva Sue and John Hancock, Donita and Houston Morris and Alice Jean and Charlie Dozeman: Step Son, Tyrone & Betty Numm: Step Daughters: Claudia Reese, Jennifer Charlton. He had fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Archie is also survived by his Brother, Charley Gandy; Sister, Eva Sue: and numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and his Uncle, J. W. Boyde of Corona, California.

Interment will be at Payne Springs Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
