Barbara Nolley Brown, age 84, of Eustace, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, in Canton, Texas. She was born on December 16, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Edward W. Nolley and Sylvia Richardson Nolley. From the very beginning, a lifelong Elvis fan was born.
Barbara grew up in Tennessee until the mid-1950s, when her family moved to the Arlington, Texas area. She graduated from L. D. Bell High School, carrying forward a steady spirit and a deep appreciation for the people and places that shaped her early years.
A devoted and hardworking woman, Barbara built her life through persistence and quiet determination. She began her career in hospital housekeeping, and through years of consistent effort and strong work ethic, advanced to retire as Assistant Director of Purchasing—an achievement that reflected both her reliability and the respect she earned along the way.
In 1979, Barbara met and married James Brown. Their marriage endured 46 years, marked by love and devotion, until James’ passing in January of this year. Together they shared simple joys and meaningful traditions, including dressing up and making an evening of going to see Elvis impersonators whenever they could—moments that became cherished memories woven into the fabric of their life together.
Barbara found comfort in the warmth of having a cat nearby and took great pride in making a home filled with love. Barbara truly loved being a mother and a homemaker. Her love of cooking led to a vast collection of cookbooks from authors such as Martha Stewart, Rachel Ray, and many others. She enjoyed sewing and, over the years, collected fabrics to create clothes and purses. Her favorite pieces were Elvis-themed—items she never sold, choosing instead to give them as gifts to friends, a generous gesture that reflected the care she carried for others and the joy she took in making something special by hand.
Barbara will be remembered as a cherished presence—devoted to those she loved, steady in her commitments, and warm in the ways she made others feel at home.
Viewing hours for Barbara will take place Friday, August 14, 2027 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, TX.
