

Mrs. Kendall passed away on January 13, 2026 at her home. She was born August 8, 1938 in Elkhart to Oliver Joe and Audrey Maurine Dismuke Cannon.
Barbara grew up in Anderson County near Elkhart and Slocum. She was one of seven graduates in her class. She met her husband, Robert, on a blind date while working at the movie theater in Tyler. On June 2, 1958, Barbara married Robert on his next leave from his service in the military. Her parents met Robert for the first time at the wedding. Barbara then moved to Baltimore to be with Robert. Barbara was a stay at home mother until her children graduated school. She had several unique experiences during her life. She was able to see President John F. Kennedy in Dallas just minutes before he was shot. While working at an eyeglass store, she was able to make a pair of glasses for Sammy Davis Jr. During her 14-year career with Sam's Club, Barbara was able to meet Sam Walton. She was very proud that he would ask her opinion on things in the store. Barbara collected Barbie Dolls and cookbooks. She enjoyed going to the grocery store. Barbara was a Baptist by faith.
Mrs. Kendall is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Cannon and Maurine Killion; stepfather, Hoyett Killion; and sister, Geraldine Cannon.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert Kendall; son and daughter-in-law, Robert H. and Susan Kendall; daughter, Leah Teresa Kendall; six grandchildren: Curtis, Colby, Casey, Lawton, Jennifer and Brandon; four great-grandchildren: Astoria, Payton, Jack and Wyatt; nephew, Wayne Kendall; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will one hour prior to the service.
