

Billy Monroe Crowell, 77, of Edgewood, Texas passed away on January 28, 2025. He was born on October 28, 1947, in Edgewood, Texas to Forbe Monroe Crowell and Geneva Bell Phillips. Billy was one of seven children in a home full of love.
Billy went into the Army in 1967. He received 3 bronze stars and a purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster. In August of 1969 he came home and built a life in Edgewood. Billy was blessed with three daughters and two sons. He was a gentleman’s gentleman. Someone you could always depend on. Billy was the glue of his family. He was the favorite “Grandpa” and “Uncle”. Billy enjoyed days of listening to good ol’ country music and going to garage sales. He was a picker of antiques and the best deals on treasures he would find. Billy had a big heart and was a blessing to all his family and friends. He will be dearly missed but always live on in the hearts and memories of all that knew him.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Forbe Monroe “Chief” Crowell and Geneva Bell Phillips Dugan; sons: Christopher Crowell and Jarrod Crowell; siblings: Larry Joe Crowell, Robert Olen Goodner, and Shirley Hall; his beloved soulmate, Charlotte Richards.
He is survived by daughters: Brandy Crowell and significant other, Noel Sylvie, Lacey Barker and husband, Matthew, Alicia Ashcraft; grandchildren: Dillon Crowell, Emma Crowell, Brian Davis, Jace Davis, Junior Davis, Seth Barker, Kati Barker; siblings, Linda Walsh, Glen Dugan and Dwain Dugan.
