Bobby was born on January Eighth 1933 in Fort Sill, OK the first of four children born to Esther and Bernice Dearman. He grew up in Waukomis, Oklahoma and attended grade school and high school in Enid Oklahoma. During his teen years Bobby held various jobs in order to help out his family. He bailed and delivered hay and did other odd jobs but the one I remember the most was the time he said he actually worked for a Mortuary, driving the hearse and helping out the mortician.
Bobby had a great singing voice and sang solos in the school choir won many competitions. He loved Country and western music and Elvis Presley “they share the same Birthday.” He graduated from Enid High school and went on at age seventeen to join the Air Force where he completed some college. For most of his time in the service he was stationed in Alaska. His father’s death resulted in an early honorable discharge.
Bobby Moved to Texas in the early 1960’s where he eventually found his niche as a salesman with Raldon Homes, one of the biggest homebuilders in Dallas and worked with them for several years. He spent 15 years with Goodman Homes in Plano, TX as an onsite sales Manager. He won several awards for his salesmanship and was a top salesman for many years. Bob and Rose met at Goodman Homes in 1988 and soon after were married and combined their separate homes into one. They chose to move to Canton in 1989 and bought an older house on 17 acres. They loved their country place and had a blast remodeling it into a two story home with lots of animals and a huge garden. They raised Pygmy Goats, Geese, a pig and other furry friends. Bobby loved riding his old red tractor and taking walks with Rose and all the animals trailing behind including their dogs, cats, Sophie the Pig and seven Geese.
In 1996 Rose convinced Bobby to give up driving back and forth to Plano and they opened their own Real Estate Company “Rose Realty” on Highway 19.Their business took off at a fast pace and needing more room they purchased the building at 430 Trade Days Blvd.. Then in 2001 RE/MAX came knocking and they became “RE/MAX Rose Realty” and along with their agents they continued to grow their business into the most successful Real Estate Company in Van Zandt County.
Bobby was an honest and good man he was the best of the best; he cherished his wife Rose and was a true gentleman with a big heart. He cared deeply for his family, and treated everyone with respect, fairness and kindness. He had a great smile and was always a meticulous dresser. Bobby loved flying and was a self taught pilot he also loved old cars, World War Two Books, and history, but most of all he loved riding Motorcycles. He cherished his days out cruising on Canton’s back roads on his bright yellow Honda Gold Wing, most times with either Rose or their Pomeranian Clara-Bow behind him- he so loved the wind in his hair. Bobby also loved his dogs, Joey, Kiki, Lil Puppy, Harpo and cat Bogie who look for him every day- Most days you would find Bobby in his chair with all four dogs.
