A Celebration of Life service for Bobby O’Neal Williams, 70, of Ben Wheeler, Texas will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Eubank Funeral Home. Bro. Larry Shackelford and Bro. Shaun Skubal will be officiating. The service will be followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m.at the LaFayette Cemetery in Pittsburg, TX.
Bobby gained his fireman angel wings on May 13, 2024 in Ben Wheeler, Texas. He was born on August 29, 1953 in Gilmer, Texas in Upshur County to Obie Wesley Williams and Corine Nipper Williams.
Bobby spent most of his childhood around the LaFayette and Pittsburg, Texas area before moving to Canton, Texas. It was in Canton that he met his sweetheart for life, Mary. Bobby was introduced to Mary by his brother, Bill, and sister-in-law, Kathy, and it was love at first sight! That was almost 52 years ago that they said “I Do” on the 27th of May.
Bobby worked many jobs as a young man, but he worked the longest for Brookshire’s Grocery Company, where he retired after 27 years. Bobby was a volunteer fireman for 40 years at the Ben Wheeler Fire Department and served as Fire Chief from August 27, 1992 to March 26, 2008. For health reasons, he had to resign.
Bobby loved to go to the gas station to drink coffee and meet people. He had an infectious smile. Everyone loved to talk to him. Bobby will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Obie and Corine Williams; and brother, Bill Williams.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Williams of Ben Wheeler, TX; son, Robert Williams and wife, Jennifer of Houston, TX; daughter, Misty Ellison of Ben Wheeler, TX; grandson, Hunter Williams of Houston, TX; step-granddaughter, Taylor Ellison of Quinlan, TX; sister, Linda Helpenstill of Gilmer, TX; brother, O. W. Williams and wife, Lynda of Splendora, TX; sister-in-law, Kathy Williams of Canton, TX; dear friend, Revina Davis and husband, Mike of Gilmer, TX; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other close family and friends.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
