Mrs. Mercer passed away December 28, 2017, in Crowley, TX. She was born June 3, 1939, in Dallas to Lucien Hubert and Viola Ruth Smith Jeannet.
Carol grew up in Dallas and graduated high school in Sweet Home, Oregon. She moved back to Texas, married and raised her family. Carol lived in Dallas, Garland and Canton. She and her husband, Rusty, were in the gem and mineral business for 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening later in life.
Mrs. Mercer is preceded in death by her husband, James Harold "Rusty" Mercer; parents; and two brothers: Donald and L.H. Jeannet.
Carol is survived by her son, Kerry and Melanie Mercer of Crowley; daughter, Kerra Stokes of Allen; three grandchildren: Christa Mercer, Kelly Mercer and Nicholas Stokes; two sisters: Virginia Crawford and Wanda Carter; and two sisters-in-law: Patsy Mercer and Anita Jeannet.
