Charlie grew up in a small farming town where he helped his dad on the farm, as well as working at different service stations. He was dedicated and hardworking man his whole life, qualities his passed on to his children. Charlie was an example of a faithful Christian man, devoted husband and father.
Charlie met his beloved wife, Ophelia, in 1956 and started an everlasting bond of love, laughter, and joy. Charlie worked and retired at 35 years at Dallas Power and Light. In his retirement he opened a car wash; consider one of the cleanest and finest around.
Charlie was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother in-law, and friend to many. His devotion to his family could be seen as he supported and attended every sporting and major event in his children and grandchildren's life. Charlie will be loved, missed and cherished by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Olin and Velma Brown.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Ophelia Brown; children: Sharon and Earl Reid, Gary and Lanette Brown, Greg and Rhonda Brown; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister in-law, Yolie Beavers; a multitude of other family and friends.
Charlie will be laid to rest at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas.
