Memorial Services will be held for Cheron Rae Dyer, 48, of Athens, TX, Saturday 2:00 pm July 31, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, TX, Bro. Steve Glosup officiating. Cheron was born April 23, 1973 in Athens to Jerry Wayne Bonsal and Patty Ann Francis Bonsal. She passed away July 24, 2021 in Jacksonville, TX.
Cheron was a loving, caring mother, wife, aunt, sister and friend. She was the youngest of the family and the sweetest of the girls. Cheron attended the Athens public schools and maintained lifelong friends in many of her classmates. She attended TVCC and utilized her knowledge in both the health care and criminal justice fields. Cheron married her childhood crush and had 2 beautiful children. Her family was her life and fulltime role that filled her with joy and love. She was saved and baptized at an early age at the Cayuga Drive Baptist Church in Athens.
Although, life threw many difficulties at her, she never failed those around her. She never questioned her heart, if she loved you--she loved you forever, she knew no anger and hated no one. A peacekeeper, Cheron, was the one who we all turned to for sincere advice, problem-solving or just a hug. She was the girl who lit up the room with her laugh and beautiful smile. She was always, always smiling. Cheron worked in the medical field and later in the Malakoff court system, perfect professions for her kind and generous soul, giving her the ability to share compassion and love to those at their worst times. She was a moment of hope to so many people when life had been a disappointment to them. Cheron had such a deep awareness of our suffering coupled with the ability to relieve it. Like our mother, Cheron opened up her home and heart to so many children. She gave them a warm safe place, a meal or just a moment of peace and redirected them in their challenging life to a better future. She never judged, ridiculed or belittled anyone with ill intent. She embraced us all, blindly giving us the kindness, empathy and love we often did not deserve.
Cheron is preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Patty Bonsal, maternal grandparents, James and Ruby Francis, paternal grandparent, Lessie Smith, sister, Shanley Kerls Brown, uncle Tommy and aunt Mary Kerls, brother-in-law, Wayne Hightower.
Cheron is survived by daughter, Krysta Dyer, son, Tanner Dyer and Stacy Nicholas, sister, Cara Bonsal, sister, Holley Hightower & Kevin Lloyd, father of her children, David Brad Dyer, brother, Sheb and Angie Shaw, brother, Brad and Hannah Shaw, mother, Diane Bonsal, bonus daughter, Chasity Rackley, nephew, Bryce Rounsavall and Destiny Lacono, niece, Jenny Rounsavall, great-nieces, Hannah Fender and Alexis Rounsavall, and numerous other family members and friends.
