After graduating high school, she went to work at AT&T as an Executive Assistant in Dallas, TX. While she was in Dallas, she met her husband, Farrell Allen, then gave birth to her son, Mark in 1957. She became a stay at home mom until she re-joined the workforce at AT&T where she would continue for 47 years. Dale’s family was always at the forefront; in keeping true to her family values, she adopted her two grandchildren, Kristina and Brandon.
Later her career took her to Georgetown, TX where she developed a love for ballroom dancing and country western two stepping! In 2000 she lost her husband of 44 years. After retirement, she relocated to Dallas, TX and then rejoined her sister in Tyler, TX where she continued to enjoy dancing, mahjongg, and traveling! She found the cheat code to life by moving into the Staybridge Hotel. Breakfast, dinner, and reserved parking with her name on it! From there, she moved to an assisted living facility and then into Prestige Estates Memory Care Unit. Dale’s legacy is her kindness, which evolved into her becoming the anchor for her family.
Dale was preceded in death by her three brothers, Harold Lawler, Lewis Lawler, Lindy Lawler and sister, Jo Hart Orr.
She is survived by her son, Mark Allen (Natalie), Kristina Fox (Jason) and Brandon Allen (Katie), grandchildren Addison Fox and Dayton Fox. She leaves behind a surviving sister, Wanda Schreiber, a surviving sister in-law, Evelyn Corley, along with a very special niece Debbie Calhoun (Steve). She also leaves behind many other nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be Thursday, June 26th at Eubank Funeral Home, 27532 State Highway 64, Canton, TX 75103 at 1:00 in the afternoon, followed at a graveside burial at Haven of Memories Memorial Park.
We would like to give a special thanks to those at Prestige Estates who loved and cared for Dale over last three years. Additionally, a heartfelt thank you to the angels of Paloma Hospice. We also want to thank Alice, Shunja, Janet, Shirley and Deandace for their compassion and care over the last 4 months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Alzheimer Alliance, Paloma Hospice, or CASA for Kids of East Texas.
