I've known David since the Early to mid sixties. We became friends early and kept in touch through out the decades. He was my friend and dearly and really have missed not being able to call him at any time to just get caught up. David was the best friend, husband, Father, Pa Pa and person I've ever known. He is someone I wanted to be like. Rest in Peace Mr Evans. Life is not the same without you and Ruby. David, your life mattered.

David was my true friend for over fifty years. Although we didn't see each other much we kept in contact several times a month. We shared many laughs over the decades.  Our favorite touchstone was the ol rooster, Foghorn Leghorn saying, "I say I say Boy!" I'm a better man for knowing David. Rest in Peace my dear friend. You are so missed. Kletz

David was  very proud to serve our country.  He stood for a true soldier. He went thru some tough times in Desert Storm. Ruby was right by his side all the way. I loved getting letters from him. Was so worried about him, but definitely a strong man. 
  Ruby bless her heart went thru all of it with him. They had a love, I had never seen before. Both where such great people. Very proud of their family.
 You both are going to be missed so much.
 I love you cuz💔, I love you Ruby. You where an amazing woman. 

We received our  Bronze Stars alongside each other-  my fellow Soldier and Patriot, David Evans.  He became my life long friend shortly thereafter on a road trip, to Battle Staff course at the Sgt. Majors academy, in Elpaso, TX,  in 1992.  Many beers and miles later, (times were different back then- and we were young and a little crazy), we were brothers for life.   He, being several years ahead of me in life and common sense, gave me an anchor in the storm that was my life at that time.  He guided and mentored me through those rough waters and saw me through to the other side.  He and Ruby were with me when I met my partner for life Bobbie Gene, and throughout many adventures along that road.   We spent so many wonderful times with him and his pride and joy,  Ruby, in  places like San Antone,  Crystal Beach,  the Stock Yards, our place,  and their oasis in the Texas sand.  He was the kindest Man I have ever known, and also one of the strongest.  He was fierce, true and head strong (especially about his loves—( his wife, offspring, his Country and the Cowboys), and I will miss him dearly.  He presented me with an “Honorary Texan” card many years ago and I have proudly carried it in my wallet ever since.   To be received from such as him  was and is the greatest honor. Good man, soldier and Patriot gone too soon.  I’m going to miss you, my brother, my friend.
