After finishing school at Canton High School, Don enlisted in the U.S. Navy. His service in the Navy allowed him to travel to many places in the U.S. as well as overseas.
After serving over twenty years in the U.S. Navy, he retired and moved to his family farm in Canton, TX. Don raised game roosters, cattle and dogs. Don loved his farm, music and old westerns.
Don is preceded in death by: his parents, E.B. Floyd and Viola Floyd; his wife, Claudia Atchison; and his sister, Paula Floyd-Landers.
Don is survived by: his daughter, Robin Floyd; his grandsons: Timothy Ingram, Clay Ingram, and Elijah Morris; his brother, James (Jimmy) Lee Floyd and wife Carolyn; his step-son, Steven Turnage and wife Racquel; and his ex-wife Dianne Floyd.
