Doris Jean Butler

A Celebration of Life service for Doris Jean Butler, 84, of Lindale, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Eubank Funeral Home, Mark Thacker officiating assisted by Cody Bateman. A Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

Doris passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2025. She was born on January 9, 1941 in Canton, Texas to Oliver and Inez Dearing.

Doris grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School, Class of 1960 where she was voted “Most Beautiful” by her classmates. Doris was a member of Pine Springs Baptist Church. Doris kept her mind sharp by enjoying all kinds of puzzles and games, an activity that she shared with her grandkids. Her competitive side made playing against her a lively and exciting event. Doris enjoyed crafting and sewing. She spent many days creating beautiful caps for the American Cancer Society. Doris would beam with pride and joy when spending time with her grandchildren and always was there to support them in their endeavors. Doris loved the Lord, and always considered herself blessed with a wonderful family. She was especially happy to see her family grow to include three great-grandchildren.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Inez Dearing; son, Danny Dailey; sister, Joyce Crabtree; brother-in-law, Eugene Crabtree; nephew, Roger Crabtree.

She is survived by her daughters, Dana and Mark Thacker, Christy and Shannon Bateman; grandchildren: Elizabeth and Melvin Stephens, Sarah and Justin Midkiff, Mackenzie and Neal Warnick, Cody Bateman; great-grandchildren: Micah Warnick, Thacker Stephens, Maisyn Warnick; brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne and Sherry Dearing; sister, Betty Wilkerson; a host of other nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Pallbearers: Robert Dearing, Ken Dearing, Rusty Wilkerson, Neal Warnick, Randy Wilkerson, Melvin Stephens, Justin Midkiff, Cody Bateman.

Honorary Pallbearers: Dwayne Dearing, Mark Thacker and Shannon Bateman.

Doris will be laid to rest at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton, Texas.
