Doris Evelyn Cole

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Edom Cemetery in Edom, Texas, Bro. Larry Shackleford officiating.

Coming to Ben Wheeler as a teenager, Doris met Royce Cole, and they married on December 5, 1941. Together they raised five children. She was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of Stanger Springs Community Church.

A loving and caring mother, Doris was always available to hear concerns or troubles and give support to her children. Known as a wonderful cook, she continued to cook for her family and share with the community her entire adult life. She will be dearly missed and will live in the hearts and memories of all her loved ones.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, William Guest and Eura Guest Mobley; beloved husband of 65 years, Royce Cole; daughter, Donna Dike; four grandsons and a son-in-law.

She is survived by her children: Marion Vinson, Danny (Jill) Cole, Michael (Tricia) Cole and Tommy Cole, nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
