Doris Jean “Dee” Shaver McQuirk, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was called home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2025. Dee passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, and unmistakable style that touched everyone who knew her.
Born on January 27, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, Dee was the cherished daughter of Robert Lee Shaver, Sr. and Nellie Pauline Furrh Shaver. From the very beginning, she carried a bright spirit and a heart rooted deeply in her love for Jesus. She encouraged others through prayer, Scripture, and a steadfast belief that God’s love could guide anyone through even the heaviest storm.
Family was Dee’s greatest earthly treasure. She is survived by her loving daughter, April Kathryn Logsdon (Brian); her adored grandchildren, Emma and Benjamin Logsdon; her sister Donna; and her brothers Richard and James.
Dee had a lifelong passion for style and celebration. A proud member of her high school dance team, she carried that same grace, rhythm, and sparkle throughout her life. Her love of shopping was legendary—she had a gift for finding just the right piece, the perfect accessory, and a beautiful way to make everyday life a little more special. As her brother Doug lovingly said, “She could make a cheap outfit from Goodwill look like a million bucks.” And, of course, everything was even better if it came in pink. Whether it was a soft pastel blouse, a bold lipstick, or something fun she’d picked up on one of her many shopping trips, pink wasn’t just her favorite color—it was a signature of her joy.
Dee also loved to cook for family and friends, always turning a meal into a lavish affair. Whether hosting a holiday, a birthday, or simply a get-together “just because,” she made every table beautiful, every dish memorable, and every guest feel cherished.
A visitation to honor and celebrate Dee’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 18, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, Texas, from 6:00–8:00 PM. A funeral service will also be held at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton on Wednesday, November 19, at 1:00 PM. Internment will take place at Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery on Thursday, November 20, at 10:30 AM.
Dee’s presence was a gift—radiant, uplifting, and unforgettable. As we celebrate her life, we rejoice knowing she is now at peace, wrapped in divine love and reunited with those who went before her—especially her beloved husband, Joe.
Her family and loved ones will forever hold her memory close, honoring her through faith, flair, and a little touch of pink.
