Doris Dean Risner

Services for Doris Dean Risner, 93, of Edgewood, will be held 11 am Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Ken Maddox and James Jacobs officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.

Mrs. Risner passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, in Tyler. She was born November 28, 1931, in Edgewood. Doris was the beloved daughter to N.L. "Shorty" and Dora Estes McEnturff.

Mrs. Risner grew up in Edgewood, Texas, and graduated from Edgewood High School. After graduating from High School, she moved to Dallas where she began work at Republic National Insurance. Doris soon married her husband of 74 years, Lewis Risner, on September 15, 1951. They soon started a family giving birth to Jackie, Cindy and Sandra. The family moved from Mesquite in December 1966 back to Edgewood. Doris began working at Darbys Department store until it closed, then East Texas Pleating in Wills Point until it closed and finished her working career at Malouf's Sewing Factory in Canton.

Doris was a devoted member of The Edgewood Church Of Christ in Edgewood Tx. Doris loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed vacationing in Branson and at Lake Texoma in their RV. She had a deep love for watching her kids and grandkids play sports - cheering them on proudly from the stands every chance she got.

Doris is survived by her husband of 74 years, Lewis Risner; son, Jackie (Lee Ann) Risner; daughter, Cindy Roberts; six grandchildren: Bradley Paul Sherburn, Amy (Chad) Corley, Melinda Sherburn, Kayla (Chris) Garner, Sara Beth Risner, and Lauren (Eric) Diaz; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Making her a part of a beautiful five-generation family.

Mrs. Risner is preceded in death by her mother, Dora McEnturff; father, N.L. "Shorty" Mcenturff; stepmother, Artis McEnturff; brothers: Don Clifton and Jimmie Lee McEnturff; daughter, Sandra Risner; and son-in-law, Danny Roberts.

Doris will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends but will find comfort in knowing she is embraced in the arms of those that she loved and mourned.

Pallbearers are Bryce Valentine, Roger Clark, Don Davis, Stan Stevens, Neal Travis, Ted Bomar, Jimmy Grace, Randy Kerr and Lynn Harris.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
