Dorothy Marie Jackson

Dorothy passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 in Tyler, TX.

She was born June 20, 1926 in Wills Point, TX to James Olin Pearce and Carrie Burnett Pearce.

Dorothy grew up in Grand Saline and graduated from Grand Saline High School in 1943. After high school, she married Travis Gail Jackson of Van. Gail and Dottie were happily married for 63 years. After he returned home from WWII, they lived in Longview a short time before moving to Van, TX where they raised two sons, Jim and Alan. In 1967 the two moved to Louisiana until they retired to Chandler, TX in 1985. Dorothy collected Coca-Cola memorabilia and antique milk glass in her spare time. She loved watching baseball, cooking, traveling, big band music and dancing.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gail in 2006 and son, Alan in 1977.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Jim and wife Becky Jackson of Virginia Beach, VA; one granddaughter, Angela Marie Jackson of Virginia Beach, VA; one grandson, James Worth Jackson of Manchester, PA; and two great-grandchildren, Emma Marie Jackson and Dustin James Jackson of Manchester, PA.

She was a sweet and loving wife and mom. She will be missed.

Interment will be at Haven of Memories in Canton, TX.
