Interment will be at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.
Doyle passed away on May 9, 2017 in Balch Springs.
He was born on September 15, 1940 in Kaufman to Robert Elmer Donehoo and Lela Gertrud Dedman.
Doyle Donehoo was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and he was a wonderful father-in-law and friend. He was an honest hardworking man and he always had a smile on his face whenever you came into his presence even throughout his sickness. He loved his family and friends, and he would do anything for them. He would always be there whenever you needed him and he never said no, it just wasn’t in his vocabulary. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was old school, he loved life, he loved to go camping and fishing, a good joke from time to time, and he loved people. He was a good cook too, in the days before he got sick, he would make tacos and rice on the weekends and everyone would come over because it was so good, and you’d be mad if you missed out. When asked for his recipe he’d say “oh a little of this, a little of that”, he didn’t have one because he made it from his heart. We all miss those days. He and mom were married for 58 years and never left each other’s side. They supported each other as husband and wife should. He was a great example of how you should always treat your family and friends. He was loved and respected by all that knew him and he will be dearly missed. We love you dad and pawpaw, rest in peace.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Shirley Donehoo of Balch Springs; son, Doyle Wayne Donehoo Jr and Sandra of Scurry; sister, Carolyn and Terry Duncan of Balch Springs; son, Ronald Donehoo of Wills Point; grandchildren, James Wayne and Alyssa Donehoo, Brittney Donehoo, Lisa Ann and Brody Ross, Laura Michelle Garrison, Leah Nicole Emerson, Cassidy Danielle and Lane Gervers, Mckenzie Carol Donehoo; great grandchildren, Avyn Donehoo and Suttyn Donehoo, Aubrey, Brock, Corbin, Austin, and three on the way; brother, Willie Donehoo and Sherry of Mesquite and brother, Delma Gene Donehoo and Jan of Forney.
