Ed is well-known for his years of serving the Van Zandt community as a paramedic for 20 years. He was always willing to help anyone he could as he was able.
Ed loved God, family, fishing, hunting and arrow-head hunting. His last several years of life saw health restrictions and limits on those activities, but his passion for them remained.

He is survived by his father, Altos Womble, of Walton; two sons: Caleb Womble of Tyler, and Ethan Womble of Fruitvale; grandson, Liam Womble; and brother, Richard Womble and his wife, Dana, of Laredo. He also had the love of cousins, niece and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 10:00am at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. A celebration of his life will follow at 11:00 am. His brother, Richard Womble, and Pastor Jack Thompson will be officiating the service. Interment will be in Chinquapin Cemetery.
