

A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2025, at Eubank Funeral Home. A reception and visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Eugene grew up in Fruitvale and Van Zandt County area. When he was sixteen, he met his future wife, Mildred Greenwood at church. The couple married on November 16, 1951, and have had 73 wonderful years together.
Eugene enlisted in the Army in 1954 during the Korean War. After serving his country overseas, he served as an Army Reservist. He spent his early years drag strip racing cars and began his carpenter career. Eugene was a member of the 1st Assembly of God Church of Ola, Texas. Eugene considered it a good day if he could fish or work in the garden.
Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Margaret Blagburn; sisters, Etta Ruth Blagburn Collins and Buelah Dunlap Shaw; brothers: R. V. Blagburn, Kenneth Don Blagburn, J. P. Blagburn, Wayne Lazell Blagburn, Paul Ray Blagburn and T. J. David Blagburn.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mildred Blagburn; daughters, Patricia Blagburn Berry and Darlene Mathein and husband, Michael; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.
Interment will be at Union Grove Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas.
