Evangeline Kidd

Mrs. Kidd passed away December 8, 2023 in Chandler. She was born November 14, 1928, in Murchison to George Russell and Julia Elizabeth Barton Edwards.

Evangeline grew up in Murchison and Brownsboro. She was a hard working woman who started out as a sharecropper, worked in the tomato shed in Brownsboro, Tyler Pipe, Logan's Meat, GE (Trane), Curtis Mathis and then as a greeter at Walmart. She loved her customers at Walmart. Evangeline attended Chandler and Brownsboro Assembly of God Churches. When she moved into the Chandler Nursing Center, she enjoyed their church services. Evangeline enjoyed watching people and the birds through her window at the nursing home. She loved the staff who cared for her at Chandler Nursing Center.

Mrs. Kidd is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Julia Edwards; son, Raymond Kidd; two sisters: Nelda Tompkins and Sybil Shaver; and brother Malcolm Edwards.

Evangeline is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Kidd and Sallie Lothrop of Downey, Idaho; daughter, Judith Reeves of Brownsboro; daughter and son-in-law, Jaqi Delane and Ronald Palmer of Gadsden, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Kidd of Montalba, TX; ten grandchildren: Mandy Grubbs, Kristy and Bryan McKeever, Justin Palmer, Ami and Wayne Bernard, Destiny and David Frierson, Jerry Kidd, Stephen Kidd, Kaywin and Danny Cottle, Courtney and Chad King, and Jennifer Bright and Jared Fitzgerald; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Clovis Tompkins of Edom and Wynell Whorton of Edom; two brothers: Marlin Edwards of Olton, TX and George and Judy Edwards of El Paso; brother-in-law, Harvey Tompkins of Chandler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
