Gary grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School. He served in the Army proudly. Gary was a devoted husband to his belove, Patricia Glanton Welch. Gary was a jokester, he enjoyed making others laugh. He was a man you could always trust and depend on. Gary enjoyed playing the lottery, reading and watching football, He loved his family and his country.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents: W. O. and Grace Welch; sister, Nell Bunker.
He is survived by his son, Travis Welch and wife, Sarah; daughter, Cheryl Welch; grandsons: Dillon Welch, Trevor Welch and Jaxon Welch; brother, Tom Welch joined him in Heaven.
Gary will be laid to rest at Haven of Memories Memorial Park, Canton, Texas.
