

Services for Glen Ray Barnes, 81, of Lone Oak, will be held 11 am Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, with Dr. Gene Lindsey officiating. Interment will be in Haven of Memories in Canton.
Mr. Barnes passed away March 3, 2022 in Sunnyvale. He was born October 25, 1940 in Alba to Willey Leroy and Marion Frances Thornhill Barnes.
As a young man, Glen was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He earned his pilot's license in 1969. Glen enjoyed airplanes and sailing. He also enjoyed restoring antique airplanes. Glen worked for Coca Cola for 25 years where he served as a supervisor. He then became a cookie distributor for Voortman and quickly rose to be the number 2 distributor in the nation. He left Voortman after 15 years. Glen then became a bus driver for Quinlan ISD for 10 years before retiring in July 2021.
Glen was a Christian and served as a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the church choir. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wills Point.
Mr. Barnes is preceded in death by his parents, Willey and Frances Barnes; son, Jeffrey Bosworth; brothers: Sidney, Tommy and Edward Barnes; sisters: Lena Joyce Barnes and Ellen Mae Barnes; and daughter-in-law, Trudy Barnes.
Glen is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Beth Barnes of Lone Oak; four sons: Ricky and Sheila Barnes of Lancaster, Chris Barnes of Lancaster, Clint and DeeDee Barnes of Wills Point, and Matthew Barnes of Lone Oak; eight grandchildren: Jeremey, Brandy, Bethany, Danielle, Avery, Deaven, Danica and Micah; six great-grandchildren: Stacia, Taylor, Hunter, Jaxtyn, Noah and Annabella; one great-great-grandson, Elijah; sister, Dorothy Shoemake; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Dale Barnes, Patrick Barnes, Jeremey Dale, Avery Barnes, Deaven Patterson, Micah Barnes, and Greg Preston.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
