Glenda Canada Mars

Glenda grew up in Wichita Falls and graduated from Wichita Falls High School. She met her one true love, Dorsie “Butch” Mars, in Richardson, Texas. Together since 1992 and married in 2002, they built a life marked by steadfast devotion and a bond meant to last a lifetime.

For many years, Glenda worked in Administrative Management at EDS, Dynamicsoft, and Cisco, bringing steady dedication to her work. In retirement, Glenda and Butch embraced the joy of the open road—traveling often and seeking out new and unique places to eat, a simple pleasure that reflected her adventurous spirit and her love of sharing life’s moments with those closest to her.

Glenda enjoyed country and western music and dancing, and for many years she was active in Tai Chi, where she formed lasting friendships with those in her classes. Few things brought her greater happiness than spending time with friends and family and watching her grandchildren at sporting events—days that were, for her, pure joy. In every season of life, Glenda was a beloved wife, mother, and GiGi, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, H.M. and Truceal Canada; brother, Randall Canada; brother in-laws; Darrell Mars and Chuck Mars.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Butch Mars; children: Scott Mars and wife, Leah, Sara Burney and husband, Christian; grandchildren: Luke Mars, Colbie Mars, Jackson Burney and Emma Burney; brother, Don Canada; many nephews, other family and friends.
