Hollis lived his life devoted to Jesus Christ and loved to sing in church. During the week, he was proud to work for John Deere as a yard supervisor. Hollis met his other half in Deborah Myers and they were happily joined in marriage on July 5, 2007. He never had a bad word to say about anyone, about anything and usually laughed at life in general. Hollis enjoyed many activities like fishing on lakes/ponds, listening to country music with his favorite song being “Copenhagen” and karaoke. Growing up, Hollis earned the nickname Boogie (pronounced Booo-Gie) from his family and friends. Hollis loved his family but he especially adored his Grandpa James Hollis Truett, who he was named after. Family was dear to Hollis and if you listen, you can just hear his hillbilly/redneck accent saying “Hey, Cuz” or every time he saw Deborah saying, “Luv ya, Honey”.
Hollis is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Cox of Frankston; son, Jason Berry of Athens; daughter, Crystal Schwartz of Dayton, OH; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; mother, Dolores Cox of Cleburne, Texas; sisters: Tina Brit and husband Jason of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Tammy Lovell of Cleburne, Texas; brothers: Robert Cox and wife Jennifer Ford of Murchison, Texas, Brian Cox and wife Colleen of Lake Charles, LA, Chris Lovell and wife Kyndel of Cleburne, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
