

Services for Horace Dean Fugate, 85, of Canton, are scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, TX with Bro. Steve Glosup and Chaplains Denny Burris and Elaine Maddox officiating.
He passed away March 16, 2015 in Tyler.
Horace was born November 13, 1929 in Canton to Dewey and Odetta Mae Meridith Fugate.
Interment will be in Haven of Memories.
Horace was a member of Tundra Baptist Church and was married to his precious wife, Joyce, for 63 years. Horace served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from the Dallas Fire Department after 25 years. He was also a 32nd degree Mason. Horace loved to build cabinets and loved spending time in his shop. He had a booth at First Monday and had many friends there. Horace enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids of whom he was so proud.
Horace is survived by his Wife, Joyce Fugate, Son, John Michael Fugate of Burleson, Daughter, Kathy & Gary Riley of Canton, Sisters; Mildred & B.W. Ward of Canton, Jane & Ray White of Michigan, and Geri Huitt of Austin, Grandsons; Craig & Ashley Riley of Georgetown, Adam & Courtney Smith of Canton, and Josh & Jenn Fugate of McKinney, 6 Great-Grandchildren; Quinn, Landry, Carter, Nolan, Finley & Hadley Drew, and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Bernice Tutle, Norma Morris, Nelva Dupree, and Lavern Lester.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.
