

Irma Guadalupe Hayes, a beloved and kind-hearted resident of Canton, Texas, passed away on December 1, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on December 19, 1966, she was known for her faithful and honest nature, as well as her hard-working spirit.
A visitation will be held at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, Texas, on December 11, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am.
Irma grew up in Fontana, California, where she graduated from Fohi High School. Her career was marked by over 19 years of dedicated service as the Chief Deputy Clerk in the VZ County Treasurer Office and five years as a member of the Texas Association of Counties.
In September of 1996, Irma married Chris, and together they shared 32 wonderful years together. A devoted wife and mother, her children were always her main focus, and she was unwavering in her support for her boys.
Irma had a love for music of all kinds, enjoyed dancing, eating out, and watching a good true crime show. She cherished quiet evenings at home with Chris, considering them the best times.
Her involvement with the Republican party of Van Zandt highlighted her commitment to her community. Irma will be remembered for her strong work values and the legacy she leaves behind.
Irma is preceded in death by her parents, Leodegario Gonzales Meza and Evangelina Mat de Meza; father in-law, Buck Hayes.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Chris Hayes; children: Caleb Hayes and wife, Haven, Jared Hayes, Christian Hayes and Justin Hayes; mother in-law, Freda Hayes; siblings: Jaimie, Miguel, Efrian and Ana; a multitude of other family and dear friends.
