

Jackie Wayne Johnson, 76, passed away on January 2, 2026, due to complications related to a recent cancer diagnosis. A longtime resident of Red Oak & Canton, Texas, Jackie was born on January 16, 1949, in Dallas, Texas, and carried the spirit of his Texas roots with him throughout his life.
Jackie proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran, bringing home the discipline, resilience, and quiet strength that would define him for decades to come. After his service, he built a lifelong career in banking, where his dedication and work ethic led him to retire as Vice President of Loan Conversions. At home, Jackie took great pride in keeping a pristine yard and was always tending to projects around the house.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Shirley Marie Johnson, and his two children, Scott Wayne Johnson (wife Larissa Johnson) and Kesha Renee Joffre (husband Rod Joffre), who were the pride of his life. He was a loving grandfather to Alec Joffre, Peyton Joffre, Cambri Johnson, and Skyla Johnson, each of whom brought him immense joy.
He is also survived by his siblings Brenda Bean, LaNell Johnson
Burkett, Linda Johnson, Jerry Johnson, and Debbie Meachum. Jackie was preceded in death by his father, John Percy Johnson and mother, Doris Polley Johnson.
In his final moments, Jackie was surrounded by the people he loved most. His wife and children were by his side as he passed, offering comfort, love, and peace as he left this world. His family, along with many extended relatives and friends, will forever cherish his memory.
