Jacqueline “Jack” Counts, 82, of Wills Point, Texas, passed away the morning of March 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength, unwavering love, and a home where you always knew the door would be open and she’d be right there waiting for your visit.
Born on November 7, 1943, in Canton, Texas, to Johnnye and Frank Knowles, Jacqueline was raised with deep-rooted values of family, resilience, and care for others—values she carried with her and lived out every single day of her life.
She was not just kind—she was intentional. The kind of woman who didn’t just say she loved you… she showed it. In the meals she made, the doors she opened, the way she listened, and the way she made people feel safe, seen, and at home.
Jacqueline met the love of her life, Keith Counts, on a blind date in October 1961—a moment that would shape the rest of her story. The two married just two short months later on December 7, 1961, where they began a life together built on loyalty, devotion, and a steady kind of love that stood the test of time. A true, inspiring love story. Together, they created not just a marriage, but a foundation—one that would hold generations.
To know Jacqueline was to know what it meant to be cared for without condition. She was the first to show up when someone needed help, often putting others before herself without hesitation. She opened her home to family time and time again—caring for both her mother and her sister in the lasting days of their lives on Earth.
Her home wasn’t just a house- it was a place where food was always ready, where stories were shared, and where no one ever left empty—whether that meant a full stomach, a lighter heart, or simply the reminder that they were loved.
She had a love for the simple joys of life—collecting beautiful things like Knowles china, dolls, Campbell Soup memorabilia, and making memories outdoors through RV trips, camping, and fishing. Some of the most cherished moments were those spent around a campfire, surrounded by family, laughter, and stories that would live on long after.
Jacqueline had a gift—she could talk to anyone, about anything, and make them feel like they mattered. And that gift created something rare: a life filled with connection, warmth, and belonging.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Johnnye Knowles; her granddaughter, Charity Counts; and a big sister, Liz George.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Keith Counts; her daughter, Carol Palmer (Ken); her sons, Rainey Counts and Clark Counts (Jenny); her grandchildren, Chad Counts, Clint Counts (Brooke), Zach Palmer, Justin Palmer (Becca), and Samantha Ringo; great-grandchild, Cooper Counts; her siblings, Peggy Laird (Mike), Larry Knowles (Gloria), and Buddy Knowles (Minnie); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on April 18, 2026, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, Texas.
