James Hugh Pruitt

Funeral services for James H. Pruitt, 89, of Canton, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 10,2021 at Eubank Funeral Home, Reverend Seth Davidson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior.

James went home to the Lord on September 3, 2021. He was born on October 20, 1931 in Tundra Community near Canton, Texas to James Alva Pruitt and Nancy Lorene Peden Pruitt. James was raised in Canton. He was in the U. S. Navy and served four years on the USS Piedmont during the Korean War. James married Bernice Heine on March 18, 1956 in La Mesa, California. The couple had 65 wonderful years together. James lived in Canton and commuted to Grand Prairie for many years as a machinist, retiring from Vought Aircraft. James and Bernice were active members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Canton. He loved the Lord and his family.

James is preceded in death by his parents, James and Nancy Pruitt; sisters, Betty Ewalt and Delores Rohus.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Bernice Pruitt; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Kristy Pruitt, Douglas and Tammy Pruitt; grandchildren Krista and Michael Fisher, Kendall Pruitt, Kenton Pruitt and Samuel Pruitt.
