James "Buddy" Whisenhunt Sr.

Interment will be in Sand Flat Cemetery in Grand Saline.

Mr. Whisenhunt passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015, in Quitman.

Buddy was born May 12, 1931 in Van Zandt County to John William and Erma Irene Saxton Whisenhunt.

Mr. Whisenhunt grew up in Grand Saline. He lived in Irving for several years and then moved to Fruitvale. Buddy was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Grand Saline and retired from Morton Salt.

Buddy was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Bea Whisenhunt; his parents; 3 brothers: Harold, Billy and Jerry Don Whisenhunt; and a sister, Faye Marie Douthit.

Mr. Whisenhunt is survived by a son: James Leroy Whisenhunt, Jr and his wife, Paula of Inola, OK; two daughters: Brenda Joyce and Kenneth Whitman of Brandon, Florida, Kimbra S. and Jimmy Pettiet of Fruitvale, TX; three grandchildren: Sam Hobson, Kelly and Todd Williamson, and Lena’ Pettiet; four great-grandchildren: Makenzie Pettiet, Jaxon Pettiet, Melodee Gomer and Joclyn Hobson; and two sisters: Cynthia Miller of Amarillo, TX and Sue Vanderhoof of Fort Worth.

Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Fisher, Gerald Sizemore, Frank Dinsmore, Raymond Jones, Gene Walker and Phillip Langston.

Visitation will be 4-6 pm Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Eubank Funeral Home.
