

Janet passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at her home with her husband, Joe, son, David, and daughter, Deanna by her side. She was born on September 12, 1941 in Mabank, Texas to Spencer Stegall and Marselle McShan Stegall. Janet was raised in Mabank where she was a cheerleader, Duchess from Mabank to win Vetch Queen in Terrell, East Texas Chamber Queen to the State Fair of Texas, Betty Crocker National Homemaker of the year, as well as many other pageant titles.
Janet married Joe Miguel on February 27, 1960, and they had two children, David and Deanna and their daughter in love, Becky. She was “Mom” to three, but she was “NanNan” to not only her grands but to countless others. Janet enjoyed having dinner parties, especially at Christmas time. She enjoyed taking trips, decorating around her home, playing golf and playing with her grandchildren. Janet was adored by all who knew her, especially children who loved her “silly songs” that she would sing as many times as they wanted without question. Her warm smile was infectious, her talent was endless and her love for family and friends is a legacy that will live on forever. She leaves behind beautiful memories for us all that we will carry in our hearts. She was truly an amazing woman that we loved dearly and she will be missed.
Janet is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Joe Miguel; son and daughter in-law, David and Becky Miguel; daughter, Deanna San Miguel; grandchildren, Terance Miguel, Spencer Miguel, Joseph Miguel and wife, Laura, Tyson Reed and wife, Tracie, and Chelsea Reed; great grandchildren, Jacob, Malcolm, Atticus, John, Maddie, Morgan and Jacob; sisters, Wynell Reeves of Eustace and Judy Groom and husband, Ron of Athens; Aunt, Maxine Yarborough of Athens and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Spencer and Marselle Stegall; and beloved grandson, Vincent Ross Reed.
There will be a visitation at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2020.
Inurnment will be at Haven of Memories Cemetery in Canton, Texas.
