Jean Shipp

Mrs. Shipp passed away October 13, 2021 in Dallas. She was born August 27, 1941 in Kaufman to Troy Leon and Murline Ebna Prueitt Shiflet.

Jean was a Baptist by faith. She was a strong-willed and a very determined person. Jean loved taking care of children. She was very sociable and enjoyed hosting people at her home.

Mrs. Shipp is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dorman Shipp; son, Terry Lee Shipp; parents, Troy and Murline Shiflet; and brothers: Billy and Johnny Shiflet.

Jean is survived by five sons: Duane and Rhonda Shipp of Canton, Ricky and Veronica Shipp of Canton, Ronald Shipp of Palestine, Allen and Sharon Shipp of Idaho, and Chase Shipp of Kaufman; daughter Norma Sandy of Canton; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; four brothers: Don, Elroy, Willy, and Jimmy Shiflet; five sisters: Magaline Walker, Evelyn Hibdon, Annie Sandlin, Lou Williams and Bobby Reynolds.

Pallbearers will be Josh Shipp, Terry Shipp, Kevin Shipp, Garrett Shipp, Dalton Shipp and Gavin Shipp.

Visitation will be 4--6 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
