Jeta Fern Brewer

Jeta grew up in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School. After graduation, Jeta completed business school in Tyler, Texas. She later met and married the love of her life, Finis Howard Brewer, of Canton, Texas, in a simple ceremony at the Dallas home of one of her two sisters. Jeta, being the hard-working woman she was, has worked mainly in secretarial and publication industries, including Texas Instruments as a publications specialist and co-owner with her husband, Finis, of the Free State News, First Monday Trader, some other publications, and Star Printing, a print shop and office supply store in Canton. Jeta and Finis raised their family in Canton and were longtime members of Canton Church of Christ, where she has served as a Bible school teacher and in other ministries. Before the age of retirement, she worked at Texas Instruments for several years and lived in Denton County, but remained deeply rooted in East Texas. Once Jeta and Finis retired, they headed back home to East Texas and continued their adventures in Edom, Tyler, Hemphill, then back to Edom.

Jeta's hobbies included traveling, working jigsaw puzzles, word-search puzzles, preserving photo memories, and cherishing her most valued treasures… her family.

Jeta is survived by her children, Vicki and Gus Vess, Bud Brewer, Sue Brewer, Renee and Rusty Dickinson, and Dee and Randy Wooten; grandchildren, Shannon Vess Downing, Johnny Vess, David Brewer, Matt Welch, Nikki Dickinson Bartley, Brooke Dickinson, Russell Dickinson, Zach Dickinson, Taylor Nastro, and Colten Wooten; great-grandchildren, Brandon Vess, Ardyn Vess, Alli Rose, Amber Becar, Nicoles Welch, Morgan Herring Wolfe, Sydnei Herring, Allie Hanna, Leighton Bartley, Ryder Day, Stryker Day, Logan Dickinson, Russell Dickinson III, Grayson Dickinson, Lilian Nastro, Everett Nastro; great-great-grandson, Elliot Becar, Hudson Wolfe.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Finis Howard Brewer, Sr.; her parents, Charles Edward Goss and Esther Morris Goss; her sisters, Charlcie Sue Goss Ingram, and Joyce Faye Goss Hosick; granddaughter, Andrea (Andee) Danielle Wooten; great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Nastro.
