Johnny Wilburn Brandon, 83 of Canton Texas, was born In Troup Texas on November 21, 1942 to Rev. Curtis and Effie Brandon. He graduated from Winnsboro High School in 1961. Johnny was a great singer and musician serving the Lord in that way at his church as well as family events. Traveling with a Christian band in the early 60’s he met the love of his life Joyce; they had over 63 loving years together. He had a successful career in the printing industry followed by a 45-year career in his true passion of selling fireworks. Johnny passed peacefully on September 5th, 2026.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Curtis and Effie Brandon, sister Dorothy Frances Nutt, brothers Titus Nathaniel Brandon and Joseph Daniel Brandon, grandson Kaliel Aman Brandon, granddaughter Breanna Renae' Brandon and his great grandsons Martin Curtis Brandon III also called (Trey), and Jordan Thompson.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Joyce Brandon, sisters Anna Lois Bracken and Eunice Olivia Humphrey, brother Sidney Barnabas Brandon, son Marty Brandon and wife Codi, daughter Vicki Brandon, grandchildren Holly Couey and husband Heath, Curtis Brandon and wife Tiffany, Shyloh Byers, Nash Brandon, Tory Whitus, Jacob Thompson and wife LaTrese, Randall Brandon and wife Crystal, Jillian Renae' Brandon-Smith and husband Joseph, 20 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held 2-7 pm Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. A funeral will be held 3 pm Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Grace Family Church in Canton.
